How Much Do RAM OEM Replacement Grilles Cost?

If your RAM's grille got banged up and needs replacing, you're probably wondering, "How much is this going to cost?" It’s a big question, and the answer depends on whether you're going OEM or aftermarket, the trim level and year of your vehicle, etc.

How Does Dodge Determine The Cost Of A Grille?

Ram grille costs

OEM RAM replacement grilles vary widely in cost. Here’s a list of the most common factors that go into determining the price of a RAM OEM replacement grille:

  • Size
  • Design
  • Materials
  • Finish
  • Number of components
  • Availability

Another big factor is where you buy the grille. RAM OEM replacement grilles are available at both dealerships and online. Typically, replacement parts are more expensive at dealerships than online. Online retailers often sell at wholesale pricing (or just above), so the price is usually better. Shipping charges are a factor here, however, so be sure to price it out.

How Much Does An OEM RAM 1500 Replacement Grille Cost?

Using data from the website WeRMopar.com, we found OEM RAM 1500 grilles for $300-$500 plus shipping. This estimate is based on the 2010 Laramie model, which you can see here. Keep in mind that the price may be different for other years and trim levels.

How Much Does An OEM RAM 2500 HD Replacement Grille Cost?

RAM 2500 HD grilles are generally more expensive than RAM 1500 grilles because they’re bigger and they require more components. A new OEM replacement grille for a 2017 RAM 2500 HD Limited model costs up to $900. However, lower trim levels are less expensive.

What About An Aftermarket Grille?

Aftermarket Ram grilles can be a good option, but there are some things to keep in mind.

  • Aftermarket grilles aren't always less expensive than OEM grilles, especially good quality grilles
  • If an entire grille assembly is needed, an OEM grille might be your only option, as many aftermarket grilles require an OEM grille as a "donor" for installation. If only the center of your grille has been damaged by something such as a bird strike, an aftermarket grille is a great option.
  • Aftermarket grilles can add more protection or less. Since most OEM grilles are pure plastic, it doesn't take much to improve on them in terms of protection.

While we're a bit biased, we think Royalty Core grilles are an excellent choice for anyone considering an aftermarket RAM grille.
