If you want to add a custom emblem to your truck but aren't sure where to start, you came to the right place. The first thing you need to do is to come up with an emblem design, and this process can be pretty overwhelming. That's why we're here. This article points you in the right direction with four tips on how to come up with the perfect custom emblem design for your truck.
It's always a good idea to look at a few different samples when you're designing something, as it helps you visualize things and figure out how to be different with your designs. (We talk more about that in this blog post.) It's also helpful if you find an idea that you can use as a starting point. If you're looking for a place to start, check out our gallery, which has over 400 custom emblems!
Write a list of 3 words you would use to describe the logo you want. This might sound sort of touchy feely, but it's actually quite helpful. This is because it's easy to get distracted or sidetracked during the design process. The more designs you see, the more ideas you have. Pretty soon you'll have way too many options. Having your list of 3 words will help you narrow the list down.
Once you come up with your list of 3 words, write them down somewhere and refer back to them when evaluating your options.
Whether you're a professional artist or someone who can barely draw a stick figure, the process of drawing a sketch is beneficial. When we sit down to draw something, we have to mentally picture it first. As the sketch begins to take shape, the mental image sharpens.
If you're a great artist, you'll probably draw something that will look close to your final design. If you're an amateur, your sketch will give the designer a better idea of what you're looking for.
NOTE: If you want your custom emblem to resemble an emblem you found in step 1, you can probably skip this step. It's much easier to tell a designer, "I want it to look like this emblem, but with the following changes."
You want to hire a professional designer to look over your sketch, review your notes, and help finalize your design. Just be sure to hire someone who has some experience with emblem designs. Designing a custom badge or emblem isn't the same as designing a business card logo.
